SCCA® Solo classing — unofficial guide
What autocross class is a Subaru Forester (SF, non-turbo)?
The 1998–2002 Subaru Forester (SF, non-turbo) has no Street class — 'Subaru Forester' is on the Street category stability exclusion list (§3.1, Appendix A). It runs in the most-prepared category where Appendix A lists it.
Class by preparation level
| Stock (Street) | — |
| Street Touring | — |
| Street Prepared | FSP |
| Street Modified | SM |
| Prepared | — |
A “—” means the car isn’t listed at that level; a build lands in the least-prepared category its modifications allow.
From the 2026 rulebook (Appendix A)
Street: excluded (stability list, §3.1). ST: not explicitly listed (only the turbo Forester XT = GST), but the 2.5L N/A qualifies for the EST catch-all (<3.1L N/A, 4-seat min) — Regional only, wagon wording caveat, must meet §3.1 rollover chart. SP: 'Forester (non-turbo)' explicitly listed in FSP — the National-eligible home.
